[sounduser] I installed an audio amplifier which which was far too powerful for my electric system. i installed a second alternator, not really knowing if it would work. but the results have been perfect. they both have their own voltage regulators and are running in parallel. thought id let you know.. cheers oh and for the heavier strain.. when the stereo is on full while driving, you can really feel the two alternators biting :-)
[pmthomson] I'm positive that you could, but do not understand why you would. Having two alternators would put a heavier strain on your engine, decreasing your mpg's, hp, torque, etc. You would also research how you would connect the two alternators whether they would be in series or parallel (there is a difference).
