What is a Direct Cord Hard Wire Kit? The Direct Wire Cord is an optional accessory that allows you to connect your radar detector directly to your fuse block or other 12-volt source (leaving your lighter socket free for other uses). By installing our direct hard wire power cord you will free up your cigarette lighter outlet or your 12V auxiliary power outlet. The Direct Wire Cord is approximately 8 feet long and comes complete to hook up your radar detector. Normally comes with a T - Tap to connect to a power wire source like below. Just wrap the t-tap onto the wire and pinch with a pair of pliers, then you just connect the red wire to the t-tap. If you would like to change the t-tap to one of the fuse taps, just let us know which one you would like by leaving a note with your PayPal payment AND email us PayPal has not been sending us customer notes lately.
